how it happens

Schedule your comprehensive exam with the Wholistic Dental team here.

step 1

We will review your concerns, goals, and diagnostic findings.  Then, we will optimize your oral health and see if we are a good fit.

step 2

If we decide that we are a good fit and our treatment solutions align with your wellness and oral health goals, we will discuss the treatment sequence, and timeline and get you scheduled for your first treatment/hygiene visit.

step 3

Clifford Test-Blood test available to determine biocompatibile products, what is safe and unsafe for use, specific to you.

Biocompatibility testing and safety

We offer this option, in support with your naturopath and blood testing recommendations to ensure materials, treatment needs, treatment sequence, appliances, and modalities are the most individualized for your optimal dental and whole body wellness.

Muscle testing

We are a fluoride free office. We offer many nano-hydroxyapatite alternatives for sensitive teeth and remineralization needs.

Biocompatible Materials.  Flouride Free

BPA free-We use composite restorative materials and acrylics without BPA, to insure minimal risk/exposure to patients, minimize any known or unknown reactions, and reduce risk of negative health impact.

Biocompatible Materials.

We strive to provide metal-free restorative material options to our patients. With patient involvement, biocompatibility testing, and lab recommendations, we choose the optimal materials for wellness, longevity and esthetics.

Biocompatible Materials.

CBCT- we offer low radiation, wide field of view 3D head and neck imagery. This is used to assess sinuses, joints, airway, bone, root structure, implant planning and possible areas of infection or poor healing.

Low radiation digital imagery

We use a zero-radiation digital scanner (intra-oral camera) for all patients to have a complete scan of their teeth and gums. This will be used for reference, comparison to future scans, and education purposes. Additionally, this scanner will minimize/eliminate the need for impression materials to be used for such dental procedures as night guard fabrication and crown fabrication.

Intra-oral scanner

we rely on low radiation digital x-ray technology to minimize exposure and optimize diagnostic outcomes. Radiographs are required legally and for accurate diagnostics of dental health and potential disease not evident with clinical evaluation. We take a minimal number of images and depending on caries risk, determine a safe interval for follow-up images to reduce radiation exposure.

Minimal radiographs

We use ozone in multiple forms to optimize its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties during most of our dental and aesthetic procedures. In addition to being helpful for infections, ozone is helpful for energy, pH imbalances, etc.

Ozone therapy

Offered in panel and focused form to enhance healing and minimize post-procedure discomfort by reducing inflammation, pain and healing time.

Red light therapy

This specific laser therapy is available in office, ideally for relief of post-surgical swelling, neuropathies, injuries, sprains, soreness, pain and many other concerns.

MLS laser therapy

PRP/PRF therapeutics- optimized oral surgery healing after complete tooth removal and thorough cleaning of the extraction site, we place your blood product (and bone graft when indicated), to ensure all steps have been taken for optimal healing.

Platelet Rich Plasma/Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRP/PRF)

We offer biocompatible facials, using your blood product to, over the course of multiple treatments, enhance collagen production to smooth and thin lines, creating a natural lift and smoothing of the skin.

Facial Aesthetics

EFT (Emotional Freedom Tapping)-using individualized muscle testing to determine physiological and emotional blocks (often arising as anxiety and fear in dentistry), we use a series of defined meridian tapping points to release the block and allow for energetic flow and balance. A technique similar in concept to acupressure.

Dental Anxiety Release/Energy Meridian Balance

Chakra Balancing-using muscle testing, chakras are assessed from root to crown and balanced as needed throughout procedures, to maximize balance during the procedure and ensure balance upon completion of the procedure.

Dental Anxiety Release/Energy Meridian Balance

Craniosacral Therapy- a system of gentle touch designed to enhance the functioning of membranes, tissues, bones, fluids, and joints, surrounding or associated with the brain and spinal cord. Excellent to ensure minimal brain, spinal and structural impact following or in addition to dental procedures.

Dental Anxiety Release/Energy Meridian Balance

Assessment- a full assessment of airway to optimize breathing and sleeping with optional referral for sleep study and/or medical specialists.

Airway optimization

Night guards/splints/retainers-impression free imaging is used to capture your arch(es) to create your ideal protective guard (BPA free). The guard minimizes tooth movement, tooth pain and damage, prevents restorative porcelain and implant damage, supports myofascia, muscle and joint comfort while minimizing headaches and jaw/tooth pain.

Airway optimization

Myobrace-a muscle training system that uses flexible retainers and exercises to encourage correct jaw growth, primarily in children, so their dental arches have adequate space to fit their erupting teeth and optimize their airway formation.

Airway optimization

Case specific, but when possible, we are available over the phone or zoom for such things as consults, treatment presentation/planning, and education.

Tele/zoom dentistry consultation

We offer IV nutrition and detox support in conjunction with, support for, and post-op optimization. NOTE: blood panel and medical history review required prior to IV therapy, to ensure safe and individualized dosing.

IV nutrition therapy

We offer laser therapy for anesthetic-free restorations, pain reduction, gum therapy, tongue/lip tie releases, and facial esthetics.

what we offer

"I have been a patient of Dr. Kayleigh Short for 3 years. Dr. Short focuses on my dental health in a proactive and systematic manner while taking my economic interests at heart. She is very efficient and gets the job done quickly, precisely, and without the need for a follow up visit. She is also very calm and collected during a procedure. The end result is that I trust her, my dental health is great, and that impacts my overall health and well-being in a positive manner. Dr. Short has a great personality which makes it easy to sit in the chair. I also give accolades to her assistant-Kelsie, who is the best dental technician I have ever had, very knowledgeable and engaged."
-Roland Dunatov, Sammamish WA

"I hated going to the dentist. It was a nightmare. Scary. When we came to see Dr. Short, right away, I felt comfortable. She put me at ease. I thought she would make me feel bad for my bad teeth, but she was very kind and helped me to fix them and helped teach me how to take care of them the right way. Now going to the dentist is fun and enjoyable!"
-Isaiah, age 13

"Going to the dentist is fun"

"I had a lot of bad teeth. Lots of cavities. The other dentist I had seen wanted me to have surgery to take them out. My mom wanted to find another way. So we came to see Dr. Short. She helped fix my teeth and make them look nice. After some time, one of my teeth started hurting really bad and needed to be removed. I was scared, but Dr. Short and Ms Kelsie helped me feel comfortable so that they could take the tooth out. She showed me how to take good care of my teeth so now they are staying nice. She is really kind and caring."
-Mikayla, age 9

"In my short forty-one years, I've had the misfortune of needing a high volume of dental care. Yet, in 2021 I had the great fortune of coming upon the most skilled, compassionate dentist of my life in finding Dr. Short. She is bar none the BEST dentist of my life. Not only does she provide the highest technical quality in her care, her centered, supportive, and irreverent approach is what anyone would want while sitting in the hot seat. I've never felt so reassured in the vulnerable position of being a patient. What a treasure it is to be cared for by someone so kind and capable; may every person be so fortunate."
-Kim J.

"I've never felt so reassured "

"When health issues warranted removal of my mercury amalgams--both in fillings and as residues under my crowns, Dr. Short went above and beyond to guard my health as she basically reconstructed my mouth. Start to finish, her work was exceptional. My bite's great, teeth are beautiful, and her safe procedures couldn't have been more meticulous. I'm grateful. I'd choose her again in a heartbeat."
